How it works
Similar in function to biofilters, OdourPro's FiltaBTF™ systems humidify toxic gases before passing them through an inorganic, irrigated media bed that is nutrient-rich, to provide optimal conditions for microorganism activity. The gases are then oxidised and flow out of a vent to the atmosphere.

- Customised Systems
The FiltaBTF™ system functions by directing air through a filter bed of inorganic media with the use of a blower or extraction fan. An irrigation system hydrates the media and adds nutrients that facilitate the growth of microorganisms to metabolise the odorous gases. If available, treated effluent can be used for hydration rather than potable water.
The main units of biotrickling filter systems are made from P300 High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and are UV and corrosion resistant with a long expected product lifespan in any climatic conditions. Joint construction is via butt and extrusion welding with Standard DVS plastic joining technical codes strictly followed.
PVC pal rings or open cell foam blocks make up the filter bed media, which are designed to have a large surface area for greater biological adsorption and minimal back pressure.
Irrigation regulates the moisture levels in the filter bed to facilitate optimal conditions for microorganism growth and activity. An inspection hatch allows access to the irrigation system.
Upgrades to the standard biotrickling filtration systems include a PLC, standby fan, stainless steel fans, operational sensors, an access platform, and an activated carbon polishing unit. OdourPro also offers ongoing maintenance and monitoring services, including telemetry systems that can log fan operation and air flow, the inflow and outflow of H₂S gases as well as water flow.
